Quest: Speak with Gryphon Commander Urik at the gryphon station in Wintergarde Keep

Description

Lord Fordragon has led a crushing assault against Arthas at the Wrathgate. In response to this affront, Arthas has sent Naxxramas down upon us. While Kel’Thuzad hides in the floating citadel, his ground commander, Thel’zan, lays siege to Wintergarde Keep. The lower village is already lost and any chance of extracting survivors from the ruins diminishes by the minute.
We must act quickly! Report to Gryphon Commander Urik at the gryphon station at once! He’ll get you up to speed.
Leave me!

Completion

Urik points to a gryphon.
Have you ever ridden one of those? It’s simple, friend. Just hop on and tell it where to go.

The Forgotten Tale

Quest: Orik Trueheart at Dawn’s Reach in Dragonblight wants you to hear the tales of a Forgotten Peasant, Forgotten Rifleman, Forgotten Knight and Forgotten Footman.

Description

The toxins in the murkweed elixir will render you unconscious. So powerful is the effect of the murkweed that even your spirit will be fooled, allowing you to temporarily enter the world of the dead. Once a spirit, you must speak to the ghostly denizens of the Forgotten Shore. Seek out the cause of their anguish and return to me. Remember, , these spirits were once Alliance soldiers. Treat them with respect, honor and dignity.
Now, with elixir in hand, venture south to the Forgotten Shore.

Completion

Orik’s eyes fill with tears. They don’t know. None of them know! They think Arthas to be some great hero, when in truth it was Arthas who ordered the ships to be burned. It was Arthas who left us all for dead in this frozen wasteland! Orik weeps.
Not all of the soldiers from the Prince’s fleet perished in the freezing winter. I was only a lad when I was given the chance to battle the Scourge… to save our home from certain destruction. I took that chance, .

Lets take a tour of Dalaran shall we?

Here is a little preview of Dalaran, Northrend’s hub. We start by Flying from Dragonblight to the Dalaran Flightpoint, visit the toy store then the portals, then we head for the sewers…
Obviously this is spoiler central as it will show you how cool the place looks, but it is still missing tons of stuff so really its nothing you haven’t seen already on mmo-champion.

Get the Flash Player to see this player.

Alliance Quests going live

Alliance Quests going live

Since we now have a good stock of WOTLK quests I have decided to add them to the site for those of you who can not wait for the expansion’s release or are just curious what is going on out there. The videos will show you the quests from pick up to completion. You should consider these as spoilers since some will show cool area and new models.

We hope to keep adding quests on a daily basis until the release of Wotlk, starting from the Alliance quests and later following with Horde quests. Upon release we will also start adding old world and Burning Crusade quests to the site…until it explodes from millions of hits.

in between quests posts, I will also add flight paths and just fly arounds for those of you not wanting to see quests but interested in the scenery. keep in mind that most of these are taken during the beta and thus may radically change or even be removed once the expansion is released. I hope these little videos will help you get a feel of Northrend until release and then help you with your questing once the expansion becomes live.

This month we will be adding Howling Fjord quests, one of the first hubs you will encounter in Wrath of that dude with the sword thingy.

Enjoy it while you can : )

Big Changes coming

Big Changes coming

We have some great news regarding in the next expansion. In Wrath of the Lich King we are pretty sure that ______ will finally see some class improvement as well as _________ but that has not been confirmed yet. It has been many months that the official forums have also been swamped with __________ asking that their class be looked into.

In Wotlk alpha it seems that ______ will get ____. A 51 points talent that will allow _____ to basically ______ when ______. Pretty impressive if you ask me. Testing is still being done on the Alpha server so that all the ____ can provide feedback. One ____ told us on the alpha forums that:

‘I don t know what people think when they say ______ are OP. I mean come on, its not like I can _______ and ____ a ____ from ____…seriously’

So far the Alpha forums have been relatively quiet compared to last expansion due to some extreme censure happening this year. Thankfully Chimera should be immune to this. We will bring you more news about ____ when the NDA is removed.

Blizzard Edit: The previous news story was edited by a Blizzard employee in accordance with the non-disclosure agreement of Wrath of the Lich King alpha.

How Warriors kill Mages

How Warriors kill Mages

I’ve noticed that a lot of my fellow warriors complain about frost mages and how they can’t kill em. So I decided to make a guide about how a warrior can pawn a mage.

Let’s assume that you see a mage and you want to go for the kill.First of all, before the encounter begins you use your pvp trinket. You do this because the pvp trinket acts as a 2 min timer. If after you killed the mage it is still on cooldown that means that it took you less than 2 min so you did very good.In the other case it took longer than two minutes so there is room for improvement.

Another important thing is to make sure that the mage has seen you.If you approach from behind you must start jumping infront of him or even /poke to make sure he is aware of you.You do this because in most cases mages will run away from you because of the certain pawnage they are facing so you get the satisfaction of hunting them down first before you kill em.

Mages have two kind of spells, fire and blue rays. These ofc have absolutely no affect on you for two reasons.Firstly because you have so many hit points that you will not even see your health bar dropping and secondly becuase your plate armor is smoothed and curved so most spells will be reflected. So you have to be careful not to hit any of your allies that stand nearby and admire your skills.Be aware
that if you dont have a good graphics card your pc might crash.Do not panic.Reboot, go to the bathroom if you have to,log in and you will still find the mage struggling to kill you while you will still retain 95% of your health.

The first thing a mage will do is try to sheep you. This is a completely harmless move as you dont loose any hp.The only reason I can think of that mages do that is because they are sexual perverts that occasionally enjoy beastiality. Since children also play this game I would suggest that Blizzard changes this spell and instead of sheep a mage would transform his opponent into a stool or a bush. Well, not bush, maybe just a stool.

The next move by the mage would be to hit you with blue rays.Ofcourse this works for your benefit, not only because you will hardly loose any hp but also because it will slow you down and will give a more dramatic cinematic effect as you will slowly approach the mage to pawn him.

When you will aproach the mage, he will probably transfer himself with teleportation to a different location, from where he will send you more blue rays.I really enjoy this not only because I see the mage’s futile attempts to kill me but also because it reminds me of how the lion hunts down the small gazelle. The gazelle jumps left and right trying to confuse the lion but always gets it in the end.

When the mage will see you approaching like this he will often freeze because of his fear and will turn himself into an iceberg.Although you are a mighty warrior with your big axe you cant break this iceberg. You can ice-sculpture if you want but with a two-handed it will be kind of robust. So dual-wielding fury warriors will have better results there.

Anyway,at some point the iceberg melts and the victim will probably be in panic as he realizes that his time has come.So what you are likely to see is the mage jumping around and some kind of purple flashes will appear. This move can easily be explained. SInce they don’t know what to do, in the panic state they are in, they press all the keys on their keyboard at the same time resulting in that which appears to be a planned move but its just their last desperate attempt to kill you.

Now it is your time. With a single move your two-hand balanced epic enhanced blessed axe slices through the mages cloths (which the poor guys call armor) ,skin and internal organs resulting in a one shot-one death kill leaving the unfortunatte mage dead in a pool of blood. You will probably get some /cheer and good job from your companions who witnessed this encounter and admired your skills and tactics.

Time to move to your next target

Rarest Pet in the Game

Rarest Pet in the Game

Finally after months and months of farming Gnomeregan it dropped. It dances, licks, farts and does a lot a dry leg humping. Apparently it has a .01% of dropping when you clear Gnomeregan. The pet will follow you once you leave the instance, you talk to him. He will tell you to /punt him a couple of times and voila…your own little Cornface.
